Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan - Draft

Public Comment Period Open – Missouri’s FFY 2022-2024 Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan - Draft

The draft Federal Fiscal Year 2022-2024 CCDF State Plan is now available for viewing and public comment from April 29, 2021 to June 1, 2021.

The CCDF State Plan describes the activities to be administered by the State of Missouri for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024. This plan is the primary mechanism the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children & Families, Office of Child Care uses to determine Missouri's compliance with the law under the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG) of 2014.

Note:  On January 28, 2021, Missouri Governor Mike Parson and the Departments of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Health and Senior Services (DHSS), and Social Services (DSS) announced the consolidation of several childhood programs across state government into a single Office of Childhood that will be housed in DESE. The newly established department is named as the Lead Agency for the administration of CCDF, and effective August 28, 2021, will have administrative authority over state child care and other key early childhood and afterschool services. Since the office will be in effect prior to the October 1, 2021 implementation date for this CCDF state plan, DESE is submitting this state plan as Lead Agency.
